Experience Principles

Over a year was spent creating the eBay Experience Principles. The Design Strategy team worked tirelessly to understand our culture, our history, our users and the challenges eBay has as a modern marketplace. We collaborated across platforms, across domains, with executives, and our wonderful coworkers that would actually be deploying and living by these guides. We spent months conducted internal research and iterating every step to make sure these principles would stick company wide.

Experience Principles are a set of guideposts to help us make intelligent, user-informed and consistent decisions that drive cohesion across our experiences.

Communication: poster campaign, Slack campaign, internal site, imbedding in teams through workshops, leadership share, mobile site
