For nearly five years I worked as an Interior Designer for Larry E. Boerder Architects in Dallas, TX. I was not just creating a space according to my design capabilities, but creating an innovative home that functioned for the client. My design methodology is to research the way my clients live and to learn how they wanted to function in their new space. Feeling that once I truly understood their “needs,” I could design more appropriately for their “wants.”

I took into consideration the physical differences between couples and devised methods for creating a sense of tailor-made personal space throughout the house. I always started off by asking what they didn’t want...most people are quick to rattle off a list of dislikes which diminishes the "blank canvas" effect and launches the creative conversation.

By shadowing clients in their environment, asking questions, observing patterns and visiting a variety of public spaces i.e. hotels, restaurants and boutiques, I would start to discern how to improve their daily existence while considering how they wanted to grown in their space. I believe that in order to create, we must understand all the parts.
